Entrance to the new Tunkhannock
Public Library, which was designed
by Architect Thomas C. Horlacher, built by Milnes Companies, and landscaped by Bennie’s Nurseries following the design of Landscape Architect Thomas McLane.

The large window area in the lobby brings the beauty of the out of doors into the building. It is a nice place to sit and wait for your ride.

The Peg and Al Fassett Community Room seats up to 100 people and
can be reserved by area groups for meetings. It provides a wonderful
space to hold the Library’s Summer Programs for children.

The library is a one- story, 12,500 square foot building. There is room
for up to 40,000 books and space on
the site to expand even beyond that. The main section is one open space, which is divided into separate areas
by different ceiling treatments and a variety of lighting.

An especially popular area is the comfortable seating area, which
patrons use for reading or just relaxing and looking out at the beautiful view.

Avery Mountain and the changing seasons are visible through the wall of windows in the seating area.
