PRELUDE
Sometimes walking through the streets of this city
I see all the faces of the winners and the losers

Oh why, can't I see a change, just one sign
Before I say goodbye
Before I say goodbye
written by  Guess

These below were emailed to us for posting, just regular feelings from regular people...

Anticipating Tonight
I remember once, How I used to run in these streets.
They all took part, And were an army of Me.
Anticipating this Night, at It's eve I still must believe,
That this night, forever is a part of Me.
Years of Hellish tricks, Being untouched
and infamous Tonight, was my treat.
A planning of time, For a few hours gone by.
Who was who? And why was I so high?
A chance to be unseen and unrecognized,
How I awaited this Night's sky.
This has slowly been My demise As I pass on.
The night and the Mourning after,
Was the time to reform And move onward.
Anticipating Tonight, With such fright.
Anticipating Tonight, With such a fight.
Anticipating Tonight, With a burned out light.
Anticipating Tonight, Will forever be out of sight.

Forgive Me

Some days I feel as empty, As your soul seems to be. You can’t see within, To all the pain and unhappiness. You say to me that nothings wrong, But little do you know. You don’t know me, And you refuse to see. Forgive me now for what I cannot say, For all the years I’ve held this pain inside.

What exactly is a Valentine?

What exactly is a valentine? Is it good or is it bad? Does it make you happy are glad? Is a valentine a person or place ? Does it have a name or face? A valentine from what I am told does not hurt it does not scold. A Valentine is a feeling from deep with in your heart, from in your soul letting the world know how you feel for one special person one other soul, the one you love the one you hold. A Valentine I will conclude is a person you love that loves you too.

I Wanna Fall In Love

Close your eyes and think of me
Tell me what is it that you see
I wanna be the one you run to
I wanna be you one and only
From above>I wanna fall in love

So hold your breath
and hold mine too
If we stand together I know we'll make it through
its ok ill catch you if you fall
and ill be there when you call

Lying in your arms
I feel so comfortable
I just lay back
And become so vunerable
You keep me guessin
You are the best thing
that ever happened to me
Why can't you see
So hold your breath
and hold mine too
If we stand together I know we'll make it through
its ok ill catch you if you fall
and ill be there when you call

Open up your heart and let me in
we are in love
let it begin with each other there
we will survive
I'll show you my love
with just one look in you eyes
So hold your breath
and hold mine too
If we stand together I know we'll make it through
its ok ill catch you if you fall
and ill be there when you cal

I will not bleed for you
 cannot forgive you
I am not dead and gone

I
can unlock the doors to nothing and everything why still can't you see that
I walk these streets but
I am not free
I
have been behind your bars and trapped inside of you you will not let you go my mind is full of scars it is you that is so far
I
have plenty of time for nothing

Apple of my eye

Year Book Memories

Soft hair, sweet face
Loving heart, full of Grace
Apple of my eye

I call your name, you come to me
A sweeter child could never be
Apple of my eye

Mirror image, Angel kiss
God's gift, my fondest wish
Apple of my eye

Lynne

The days have passed,
 Like a camera flash,
 The laughs,
 The friendships torn in half.
 A silent tear,
As I look back on the year,
 I remember all the fights,
Make up talks deep into the nights.
 All the inside jokes,
All the hearts that boys have broke.
 All the dances,
 The untaken chances.
Now I sit here with this book,
 Turning pages as I look,
 The memories of 2003,
Is what I see before me.

I Just Think Of You

Those voices in my head just won’t go to bed
I just think of you
However hard I try those voices never let me lie
At rest, peace to the rest but too complex
I just think of you
What’s the formula?

Love don’t have no equation that lets me know if
What your going to say is what I want to hear
What I want to know> I just think of you
But it matters and could change everything
Now and what’s gone before
I bet you knew I loved you before I knocked your door
But how was I to know if you felt the same
I
just think of you

Those voices in my head just won’t go to bed
I just think of you
However hard I try I always wonder why
This feeling has been building up to this level
I never thought it would happen cos matters too complex
I just think of you
What’s the formula

Love don’t have no equation that can be solved
Simply evolved over time
But not too long
I just think of you
And money well it’s only paper honey
I just think of you

Realise you have what every man will want
I don’t want any of that
I just think of you
I long for only the feelings you have in your heart
For me, no-one else
To live each day looking forward, never looking back
I just think of you
I just think of you

Andre' Donache'

I promise to be with you
In all of your tears
I promise to be with you
in all of your fears

I promise to be with you
As you clean up the mess
I promise to be with you
As you go through the tests

I promise to be with you
With all of your woes.
I promise to be with you
I'll take care of your foes

Just give me a little
inkling of you
And you will see yourself
Just what I can do

I will take your cares
And I will take your sorrows
I will turn them into Sun shine
That will help your children grow

Don't give up on Jesus
He's there both day and night
and when you need a helping hand
His love is just in sight.

My Shower After Our Night

I feel the water beat down on my back
I see the soap being washed away
Yet I do not feel clean

The comfort of the warm water is the only one I have right now I am alone in my thoughts
In my shame

Why did your touches feel so good?
I'd never had them before
Now all I feel is the bad

It hurt
When you touched me in a way that I'd never felt before
I thought no one would ever give me what you did
It hurt worse when you left
You said you'd call
I waited, and I still haven't heard your voice

The water is off now
I stand there, dripping and cold
The towel only gives outer warmth

Will I ever again be warmed to the core?
You took from me something
I should not yet have given
How many others will you do this to?

I am alone, still cold with my towel
Even among my friends, I am alone
They do not understand

All I want to do is go to bed and cry for the rest of my life
The tears do not come
I smile, so no one knows what I am feeling

This hole in my heart can't be filled
I will forever be reminded of what I did
Now, when I find true love, what will I give?

A Painful Life, The End to Pain

Hit from hit, pound from pound.
I keep getting kicked to the ground.
I don't dare get up, for fear of getting slapped.
And if I scream, I will get smacked.
There isn't nothing I haven't been hit with.
His hand, his belt and even his fist.

And if I'm bad, or cry because I am sad,
Out comes the iron skillet, He beats me black and blue.
He goes to the shed, and grabs the 2x4.
The beating does not end, Until I fall to the floor.

This goes on everyday, Whether I am good or bad.
I pray that my pain will end soon.
I put the gun to my head,
Pulling the trigger, there is a boom.
Now I am dead. No more pain, no more misery.
No more shame, no more bruising.

Nobody ever knew he beat me.
I always said that I tripped or fell.
When really, I just lived in hell.
Some people suspected, I'm sure.
Others saw it, and never said a word.
He was usually an all around nice guy,
Until he'd come home drunk, And hear my cry.

All I could do was pray,
But I just figure, God must have been busy that day.
It now has all ended,
Now that I surrendered.
It's the end of my life.
The end of my pain. It's the end of my agony.
The end to my shame.
It's the end to all my tears.
The end to every fear.

Picking Up An Angel
There are thoughts in my head that make me cry.
I keep telling God, I'm going to try, I'm going to try.
I hear an angel crying and because of that I cannot think.
In my life things were dark, but you made the sky so bright.
I just caught a sight of an angel out of the corner of my eye
and oh my it's a glorious sight.
I have to fight back my tears as
I see something heaven sent, because of that
I cannot deny the fact that I want to love you and would do anything for you.
I guess that's all I want to tell you.
Your wings are all torn up because some other guy beat you up and didn't care about you
He told you no one would see you beautiful again.
But all I want to do is mend you up, have your spirits sore and watch you fly again
I know that I can do it and am so determined that
I will I want to fill your heart with so much love, and God will see this from above.
All I can picture is your beautiful eyes that light up my world and motivate my life.
I know he tried to drown you and threaten your life,
but my gate is open so step in and be a part of my life.
I will wipe away those tears, shield away all your fears and heal all your painstaking years
I wish I could take it all away and see your beautiful smile everyday
But all I see is the pain in your eyes
What would make a man want to take an angel's life?
But just put faith in me beautiful and
I will pick you up and
I won't ever give up to make you happy
And let you fly again.

THE RECOUNT

The blessings have been counted
But one thing is true
We need to have a recount
We've missed quite a few
We thank HIM for the good times
When things are at their best
But do we thank HIM for the struggles
That put our faith to the test?
We'll never count them all
No matter how hard we try
Our blessing's are infinite
There's no number that high
And yet we'll go shopping
And mark off our lists
But did we forget Whose birthday it is?
The results of the recount ~ We're abundantly blessed
Put CHRIST back in Christmas
And may you all be BLESSED!

~Your Self~

Some people want to stand out,
Be Yourself.
Some people want to fit in,
Be Yourself.
If you're shy or outgoing,
I don't really care,
you are yourself.
Because I like you,
Being Your Self.

"Pieces of a Soul"

THE ENIGMA
Worm said God is apple.
Canary said God is the hand full of seeds.
Goldfish called God the water in aquarium.
Lion said God is jungle.
Human was quiet with eyes wet.

THE GIFT
They gave you steel to love.
The cry of horns for nightingales' symphony
and sewage to water your plants.
Your jungle is iron beams and your best friend is your PC.

SEPT.11, 2001
From hate to hell they crawl.
No one thought that could be a way to use wings.
Cavemen bring plague and ignorance.
Raised to love caves and death.
Raised to hate love and technology
things they can not understand.
They were too shortsighted to see that the wounded but mighty eagles will bring them to their doom after the day eyes saw a spectrum with the cavemen
that die to kill on one side and on the other
The angels that rush to hell to save lives.

WHAT WE HAVE
If there is no rain my tears are.
If there is no dawn the beauty of dusk is.
And if we can’t wash moments we can wash
the hands of mind in the river of time.
If there is no spring there is autumn with colorful leaves.

UNTITLED
When silkworm must die a pair of wings is given to her.
She flies toward a flame and burns.

The Meaning of Life

The meaning of life is what you wake up to in the morning,
fall asleep with at night and dream of while slumbering.

The meaning of life is to cherish those you love and go
to the best place where you can learn from them and
understand what they have learned and what they think.

The meaning of life is to be a good parent and take as
best care of your child as you can and if you are still just a
child the meaning of life is simply to be a child and
live and experience all you can.

The meaning of life is to be happy,
to feel sorrow and to have your own sense of security.

The best way I can tell you this is to say.......
The meaning of life is to LIVE ,
to cherish every breath and move you make,
and simply enjoy never knowing exactly
what the meaning of life is
but to search and on that search learn

Night's Embrace

In the deep purple mist,
The night rises to touch the earth.
In it, children will be conceived,
  men and women depart.
Wild life will  hunt to feed, all sustaining balance
of life on earth.

Children will complain and cajole, and sneak
a moment more of awake ness before surrendering
to the urges of parents who know best.
These parents counting the seconds before peace is restored
to the house, and they can catch moments
to rekindle their love.

The lonely, will stare into the
darkness one last time--watching.
No one comes, and so they
settle into whatever emptiness they
have created to pass the time.

Sleep pulls us deeper into the purple
mist, a swirling fog, clinging
heavily to us as we succumb to
gentle nothingness where dreams caress
us in the night's embrace.

Listen

An eerie noise that seems to surround her echoes through the alley.

A chill runs down her spine and she shivers.

She begins to hum a tune to drown out the noise.

She goes on her way and leaves the sound behind.

Blinded By A Ring Of Fire

Please I can't see,
but I'm not blind
I'm inside someone's Darkened mind,

I see the Demon with his blackened,
blood-lined wings his
Satanic cry he sings

Love hits the soul,

Like a needle’s eye,

A hole to see life pass you bye, Truth will come,

Chose right or wrong, The needle spun,

You will come undone, A shortcut you took,

And now are lost, Run around,

No one will care,

Advice you’ll take,

But do not dare, Love,

Love,

Follow your heart,

A mistake taken

Is a mistake forgiven, Except your fate,

For it is the gate,

To the other side,

Upon arrival,

You will see,

An empty meadow,

Save one lonely tree, Neglect he has,

But yet with hope,

For yonder still,

Lies the end of his rope, It is at end,

Because of you,

The trail you took caused the dew,

The tears you shed,

Froze unto ice,

They fought the life,

He paid a price, You journey now to the torturous sea,

Waves of pure agony,

They rock your boat,

And push you of,

Clinging on to a single trough, Sweet aromas pass you bye,

Singing sweet lullabies,

Follow the scent,

To a bakers vent, Ask for food,

And be denied,

The lullabies were a trick of the mind,

The baker offers you a treat,

Come and learn to make,

Not cheat, Need the bread,

Bake it well,

Take it out at five ‘till,

It’s much to hot the take a bite,

Set it out,

Rest in delight,

Starve Me

Woke up with a stone in my stomach
Every breath tells a tale of our loss
My heart remained, beating sounds of regret
And a slim trace of tears burn your name in my face
God how I hated this day from the start
Never believed its dawn would break
Now I wait for its dusk to appear
For an end to begin to end

I know where you are
But where is your heart today
Kept it in my shelf, somehow it’s gone again
Locked it shut, then swallowed the key to your love
Bad thing, cause now I feel sick
I starve

Sad days for bad lovers
What is pain compared to eternity
Insane delay in the same old colors
Mad shades of made up integrity
Believed this world was our rollercoaster
Livin Life fast with it’s twists and it’s turns
Deceased ourselves, it’s too late to buckle up now
Have to give in to emotional germs

I know where you are
But where is your heart today
Kept it in my shelf, somehow it’s gone again
Locked it shut, then swallowed the key to your love
Bad thing, cause now I feel weak
I starve

Final thought of a fatal ending
My eyes are all sore
But they can’t stop to cry
Baby you taught me a lot about living
But also about yearning to die

I still know who you are
But where is your face today
Lost it in myself, it won’t come back again
Made the cut, then drowned in the sea of love
Good thing, cause dead people don’t know how
To starve

Dead Eyes

Seeing but not seeing Hand of hours move
Days float by Sun sets and moon rises
I see nothing No joy or sorrow
No emotions wasted  I see within
No hopes or dreams Just time passing
These eyes are dead Staring into emptiness
Mindless thoughts Forever dead eyes
Living but not living

Momma's Baby

I look at your Kool-Aid stained face,
And your shirt covered in "pasketti" sauce,
And I laugh.
"Silly, Mommy", you say and finger paint hands
Are wrapped about my neck.
I smile and wash your tiny fingers.
Then I kiss your baby cheeks.
And hold you in my arms and wish
That I can always smell baby powder and Cheerios
In your hair.
I tuck you in your bed and turn on your "Kermie" nite-lite,
And I hope that I can solve all your problems,
As easily as I cure your fear of "dark-time".

Underground

Jeff Martin

I don't need your redemption I don't want you to deceive me
and I don't need your forgiveness I only want you to believe me

do you see me here I'm standing naked do you see me here I'm on my knees
now all my life I've been wandering looking for teachers with the keys
nothing found still searching for sound... underground

now let me tell you about a story it's about a man consumed with vice he's theosophical in nature and hedonistic in disguise and all his life he's been wandering looking for teachers with the keys nothing found still searching for sound underground...

Diminished dreams

Diminished dreams all faded away Dreams of love Of friendship Of joy
Love is sweet, but love is fake We don't realize What we get is what we
take Friendship is made And friendship is lost We long for happiness and joy
But for what cost? As for now I'll sit and wait Look forward and anticipate
Not for those diminished dreams that have gone away But for dreams
that come with another day

cycle of love poems... by Mark swan, a local writer

' love poem I'
love has taken to just hanging around the house
so I ask love to help
fix the car
love promptly removes the carburetor and replaces it with an
ornamental cabbage
now the car runs perfectly
stops by itself at crossings

'love poem II'
love comes over for dinner

while the food is cooking we all sit down to play cards
love is promptly caught with two aces up
its sleeve (love does not like losing)
for punishment we make love do the dishes
love puts its tendrils into
the grey soapy water and immediately turns it a rose pink--neat trick

'love poem III'
while driving I look in the rear-view mirror, and see love in the back seat (it figures) love talks me into relinquishing the wheel then immediately

drives into a bog of hyacinths

'love poem IV'
on the street I meet love selling poppies for the veterans of foreign loves

I point out the great loves within these shores, but buy the poppy anyway,
pinning it to my heart

it melts, causing a terrible stain

yesterday I forgot
how to spell my name
I was sitting in class
trying not to breathe
or be human
and a stranger
appeared on my paper
my open eyes
staring back at me

woman

and it broke

I forgot  myself hypnotized
by the blackboard
I forgot myself
writing heartlessly
I lost myself

I scared  myself in smoking

Birthday

sirens in the distance
somewhere someone is dying
or very close to it
because it is my birthday

somebody is born
and
somebody dies
and
the great circle continues
blah blah blah

what bullshit

nobody brought the whole jungle
together in my name or
lifted me up on high
on display the day
I was brought here

I was born eyes closed
mouth open
screaming for missed warmth

here I am seventeen
I enter each day
confused scared crying
for warmth now absent
the whole process is just     wrong      -ajt

WASTED SOUL

HERE WE ARE RUNNING THE SHOW HERE WE ARE BURIED IN THE SNOW OR IS IT SAND WE WILL NEVER KNOW COULD IT BE LIFE OR COULD IT BE DEATH COULD IT BE THE SHADOWS IN WHICH WE CARESS OUR LIVING TEMPLE AS WE ASPIRE TO RESPIRE IN THE DARKNESS OF NIGHT

THE PRESSURE BEARING DOWN SEND SIGNALS TO US THAT WE NO LONGER BELONG TO THE WORLD ABOVE THAT WE ARE MERE MEMORIES, FADING, AS FAST AS OUR BODIES ARE DECOMPOSING

OH HOW WE WISH WE LISTENED TO THE WARNINGS SO MANY WERE GIVEN YET SO FEW WERE TAKEN IF ONLY ONE MORE CHANCE WE HAD SQUANDER IT WE WOULDN’T WE SEEM TO THINK BUT I KNOW I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN

THEY SAY FROM WHENCE WE CAME WE ARE TO RETURN BUT MANY REASON THEIR TIME WILL NEVER COME BUT LIKE US THEY ARE BUT FOOLING THEMSELVES AS DEEP DOWN THEY KNOW ONE DAY THEIR WORLD WILL BECOME AS BLACK AS NIGHT WITHOUT A LIVING SOUL IN SIGHT

THE JOYS, THE PAINS, THE DISTRESS AND THE ANGUISH THESE REPRESENTATIVES OF LIFE WE ARE NEVER TO REGAIN OH HOW WE COMPLAINED FOR OUR PAIN & ANGUISH TO BE TAKEN AWAY ONLY NOW TO WISH WE COULD FEEL THESE SIGNS ONCE AGAIN JUST ONE LITTLE SIGN THAT WE STILL EXIST INSTEAD I FEEL THIS EMPTINESS THAT NO ONE NO LONGER CARES THE LOVED ONES I’VE LEFT BEHIND THE CHILDREN ON THE FAIR

OH HOW I WISHED I’D HELD ON A BIT TIGHTER TO MY DEAREST WHISPERED HOW MUCH I CARED HOW IS IT ALL TO END?, THE QUESTION WE ASK AND ONE DAY THE ANSWER WE ALL WILL KNOW

ode to my body

tremulous and uncertain
crooked and spiteful
in all it’s splendid glory

a slanted line
a double diamond slope
staggers down my face
some call it a nose
it’s my trophy

my stomach
becomes my hip
without much distinction
and that’s fine

I wear my body
like an old, loose dress
so you can look at me and say...
"My ... isn’t that ..... awkward?"

because my body is a temple
it takes strength to worship
at my altar

and I appreciate my body
I couldn’t live a day without it.

BEGIN THE BEGUINE
By Cole Porter

When they begin the beguine
It brings back the sound of music so tender
It brings back a night of tropical splendor
It brings back a memory ever green

I'm with you once more under the stars
And down by the shore an orchestra's playing
And even the palms seem to be swaying
When they begin the beguine

To live it again is past all endeavor
Except when that tune clutches my heart
And there we are, swearing to love forever
And promising never, never to part

What moments divine, what rapture serene
The clouds came along to disperse the joys we had tasted
And now when I hear people curse the chance that was wasted
I know but too well what they mean

So don't let them begin the beguine
Let the love that was once a fire remain an ember
Let it sleep like the dead desire I only remember
When they begin the beguine

O yes, let them begin the beguine, make them play
Till the stars that were there before return above you
Till you whisper to me once more: "Darling, I love you!"
And we suddenly know what heaven we're in
When they begin the beguine
When they begin the beguine

Watching The Wheels
J
ohn Lennon

People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin
When I say that I'm o.k. well they look at me kind of strange
Surely you're not happy now you no longer play the game

People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me
When I tell them that I'm doing fine watching shadows on the wall
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go

Ah, people asking questions lost in confusion
Well I tell them there's no problem, only solutions
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind
I tell them there's no hurry
I'm just sitting here doing time

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go
I just had to let it go
I just had to let it go

The Cage
Travis, The Invisible Band (2001)

you broke the bread
we drank the wine
your lip was bleedin' but it was fine
come on inside babe
across the line
i love you more than i
but then this bird just flew away
she was never meant to stay
oh to keep her caged would just delay the spring
you broke your word
now that's a lie
we had a deal that you would try
come on inside girl
i think it's time
high time we drew the line
but then this bird just flew away
while i looked the other way
oh to keep her caged would just delay the spring
you broke my soul dear
you stole the plot
you left an empty shot
there's nothing left here
cos you took the lot
an empty cage is all i've got
cos when your bird has flown away
she was never meant to stay
oh to keep her caged would just delay the spring
to keep her caged would just delay the spring

Side
Travis,
The Invisible Band (2001)

well i believe there's something watching over you
they're watching every single thing you say
and when you die they'll set you down and take you through
you'll realise one day that the grass is always greener on
the other side the neighbour's got a new car that you wanna drive
and when time is running out you wanna stay alive
we all live under the same sky
we all will live we all will die
there is no wrong
there is no right
the circle only has one side
we all try hard to live our lives in harmony
for fear of falling swiftly overboard
but life is both a major and minor key
just open up the chord
but the grass is always greener on the other side
the neighbour's got a new car that you wanna drive
and when time is running out you wanna stay alive
we all live under the same sky
we all live
we all die
there is no wrong
there is no right
the circle only has one side

The Boy With The Moon And Star On His Head

Cat Stevens

A gardener's daughter stopped me on my way, on the day I was to wed
It is you who I wish to share my body with she said
We'll find a dry place under the sky with a flower for a bed
And for my joy I will give you a boy with a moon and star on his head.
Her silver hair flowed in the air laying waves across the sun
Her hands were like the white sands, and her eyes had diamonds on.
We left the road and headed up to the top of the Whisper Wood
And we walked 'till we came to where the holy magnolia stood.
And there we laid cool in the shade singing songs and making love...
With the naked earth beneath us and the universe above.
The time was late my wedding wouldn't wait I was sad but I had to go,
So while she was asleep I kissed her cheek for cheerio.
The wedding took place and people came from many miles around
There was plenty merriment, cider and wine abound
But out of all that I recall I remembered the girl I met
'Cause she had given me something that my hear could not forget.
A year had passed and everything was just as it was a year before...
As if was a year before...
Until the gift that someone left, a basket by my door.
And in there lay the fairest little baby crying to be fed,
I got down on my knees and kissed the moon and star on his head.
As years went by the boy grew high and the village looked on in awe
They'd never seen anything like the boy with the moon and star before.
And people would ride from far and wide just to seek the word he spread
I'll tell you everything I've learned, and Love is all...he said

Vincent
Don  Mclean

[Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) Dutch Painter]

Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul...
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land.

Now I understand
What you tried to say, to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free:
They would not listen; they did not know how --
Perhaps they'll listen now.

Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.

Now I understand
What you tried to say, to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free:
They would not listen; they did not know how--
Perhaps they'll listen now.

For they could not love you
But still, your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do--
But I could've told you, Vincent:
This world was never meant
For one as beautiful as you.

Starry, Starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget
Like the strangers that you've met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn, a bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.

Now I think I know
What you tried to say, to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free:
They would not listen; they're not listening still--
Perhaps they never will.

A LITTLE IS ENOUGH
   ***********

They say that  love often passes in a second
And you can never catch it up
So I'm hanging on to you as though eternity beckoned
But it's clear that the match is rough
Common sense tells me not to try'n continue
But I'm after a piece of that diamond in you
So keep an eye open
My spirit ain't broken
Your love is so incredible
Your body so edible
You give me an overdose of love
Just a little is enough

I'm like a connoisseur of champagne cognac
The perfume nearly beats the taste
I eat an oyster and I feel the contact
But more than one would be a waste
Some people want an endless line that's true
But all I have is a little time with you
A smile sets me reeling
A kiss feel like stealing
Your love is like heroin
This addict is mellowing
I can't pretend that I'm tough
Just a little is enough

Just like a sailor heading into the seas
There's a gale blowing in my face
The high winds scare me but I need the breeze
And I can't head for any other place
Life would seem so easy on the other tack
But even a hurricane won't turn me back
You might be an island
On the distant horizon
But the little I see
Looks like heaven to me
I don't care if the ocean gets rough
Just a little is enough

Common sensed tell me not to try'n continue
But I'm after a piece of that diamond in you
So keep an eye open
My spirit ain't broken
Your love is so incredible
Your body so edible
You give me an overdose of love
A little is enough

Children Of Paradise
Justin Hayward and Mickey Feat

Like the crashing of a wave
On the shores of consciousness
We're alive and
We're awake to the world
And with the gift of love we're blessed

'Cos we can be
Yes, we can be
We can be
Children of paradise
Children of paradise

In the twinkling of an eye
Or the turning of a page
Comes the moment when
Our time has arrived
We can never be the same

We can be Yes, we can be
We can be
Children of paradise
Children of paradise

And all I know Is we're still climbing up that hill
And all we need to sustain us
Is love of love
The light of life
And the faith to know we can heal
Like children

Through the violence and the rage
By the grace of love be still
And the spirit that breaks free from the cage
Is the one they cannot kill

We can be
Yes, we can be
We can be Children of paradise
Children of paradise

Find Myself
Eric Clapton

We took the long way home, you held my hand,
The days so full of all the things we had planned.
We walked beyond the green, beyond the day.
We shared a dream that I let slip away.

I had to find myself.
I had to find myself.
No use looking for no one else,
'Cause I'll be lonely till I find myself.

You were the man who knew too much to say.
So many things that I learned came your way.
These things I know that I can't forget,
Deep in my heart, they're a part of me yet.

They helped me find myself.
They helped me find myself.
No use looking for no one else,
'Cause I'll be lonely till I find myself.

Too many years rolled by without a word.
I tried to hide behind things that I'd heard.
And now the truth is clear for all to see
That through it all, it was you believed in me.

You helped me find myself.
I had to find myself.
No use looking for no one else,
'Cause I'll be lonely till I find myself.

I got to find myself.
I got to find myself.
No use looking for no one else,
'Cause I'll be lonely till I find myself.
